Q. Who is WebAge Software?

WebAge Software is a company that produces administration software for schools from grades K through 12. We specialize in Internet technologies such as HTML, Java, and SQL databases. By using technology tested on the Internet, we can deliver low cost reliable applications. Because the software is server based, you can utilize the "install once, deploy many" concept to reduce maintenance costs.

Q. What does your software do?

The WebAge administration suite allows teachers, office staff and students a central "hub" where they can publish and access information about their school. Teachers and staff can manage student records, grades and attendance from any networked PC or Mac with a web browser. Because the user interface is contained in a standard web browser, the amount of time required to learn to use the system is reduced and information is a click away. Students can post their own web pages to the "hub"site and keep interested in school activities by participating in fun "quick polls" and posting thier own book and movie reviews.

Q. What hardware / software is required?

A. The server part of our software will run on any Windows NT 4.0 or Linux platform. We will provide a CD rom that you can install yourself or we can provide a server with the software pre-installed. The client can be any Windows, Mac or Unix platform that is capable of running Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater or Netscape Communicator 4.0 or higher. Oh, and the client needs to be connected to the network either directly or through a dialup connection.

Q. I am worried about storing my school's information on the Internet.

A. The WebAge Instant Intranet product is designed to be installed on a server inside your school's Intranet. Because this server is behind your firewall and cannot be accessed from the public Internet, your information is safe and is controlled by your IT staff.

Q. Is the system difficult to install and maintain?

A. Not at all. The entire system is installed from an installation CD-ROM with a step by step setup wizard. System maintenance is performed through the user friendly web interface that is used throughout the entire package.
